Physical Education Back to Special Programs

  Prep

Aims:

Students will take an active role in physical activity with a strong focus on participation. Perceptual motor skill development ( P.M.P ) develops Body and spatial awareness, hand eye coordination balance and ball skills. This sound base of skills helps children to understand rules of minor games and fosters interpersonal relationships.

 

 
Grade 1/2

Aims:

Students will be continuing their development of fine and gross motor skills as well as fostering social relationships.  The focus will also be on a healthy lifestyle as well with an emphasis on base fitness and motivation. A range of sporting activities will provide for a stimulating and challenging programme and will be delivered through individual skills based learning.

 

Grade 3/4

Aims:

Students will be continuing their development of skills as well as continued fostering of social relationships.  The focus will also be on a healthy lifestyle, base fitness and motivation as. A range of sporting activities will provide for a stimulating and challenging programme and will be delivered through individual skills based learning. Students will be training for the school cross country with a focus on developing their cardio vascular strength. Bike education and awareness will also be a part of our programme as there are a growing number of children biking to school in Grade 3 /4.
 

Grade 5/6

Aims:

Students will be continuing their development of  practical skills as well as social relationships. A focus area  will also be healthy lifestyles, base fitness and motivation. A range of sporting activities will provide for a stimulating and challenging programme and will be delivered through  individual skills based learning. Students will be encouraged to view PE as a challenge and will be introduced to wide range of sporting pursuits including interschool sports as well as training for the school cross country . Bike Education and awareness will also be a part of our programme as there are a growing number of children biking to school in Grade 5 /6.
