Students will also begin to create music independently in small groups using these un tuned instruments. |

Grade 3/4 Aims: Students will take an active role in music with a strong focus on moving to music as well and singing and rhythm development. Students will continue to develop their knowledge of complex percussion instruments and how to use these appropriately while responding to music. Students will also begin to create music independently in small groups using some tuned instruments with a focus on expression in their performance. Confidence on stage and stage awareness is also a focus at this level. |

Grade 5/6 Aims: Students will take an active role in music with a strong focus on moving to music as well and singing and rhythm development. Students will continue to develop their knowledge of complex percussion instruments and how to use these appropriately while responding to music. Students will also begin to create music independently in small groups using some tuned instruments with a focus on expression in their performance. Confidence on stage and stage awareness is also a focus at this level with students experimenting with a wide range of instruments as well as modes of performance. Individual performance from children with specific musical skills will also be encouraged. Students will look into different genre and how those genre have developed over time. |
