Personalised learning is about the tailoring of pedagogy, curriculum and learning support to meet the needs and aspirations of all learners. We recognise that not all students need to learn the same thing at the same time in the same way. We aspire to have all our students highly engaged in meaningful learning.

The Walker Learning Approach places the student at the centre of the learning. Our students learn through their own interests and intentions together with high quality explicit teaching within engaging and innovative learning environments.

In our Junior Learning House, students in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 access learning through their own interests and needs. This personalised learning is made possible through an investigation based developmental curriculum -The Walker Learning Approach.

Students are given opportunities to take responsibility for their own learning by exploring a variety of innovative learning centres with the support of teachers who facilitate deeper thinking and connections to curriculum. Experiences link with English and Mathematics in authentic and meaningful ways. In depth planning considers the needs, interests and developmental stages of the students and provides opportunities for the explicit teaching of the required curriculum.
